3D printing helps in restoring valuable historical objects and legacy design by doing reverse engineering. In process of reverse engineering, old objects are scanned and digital models is prepared using point data and digital model is repaired using mesh mixer to validate the model for 3D printing.
Photogrammetry process
Object to be scanned placed on stationary table and as many as photos are taken around (360°) the object to capture all details using high resolution cameras.
Photogrammetry softwares helps to convert array of 2d photographs into full 360 degree 3D model which could be 3D printed.
